Freida Pinto matches her blue eyes to her dress

Milan Fashion Week might have been all about the clothes but we can't forget about make-up and some great beauty trends were been started over in Italy, particularly the blue smokey eye used on models at Versace.

The look is very intense but a nice colourful change from black, perfect for Spring and the colour pop beauty trend.

At Versace the colour went all the way up to the eyebrow and flicked out at the corners. The inner corners were highlighted with a bright, metallic blue. The rest of the face was kept bare with a natural base, no blusher and nude lips.

If you want to try this look for yourself celebrity make-up artist Ariane Poole (arianepoole.com) has these tips for you to follow to create this fantastic sexy look.

She says: "This is a stunning new twist on a sexy look. This smoky eye look is more vibrant, fresh and modern."

"Start by priming the eye to keep the shadow on longer and from creasing. Apply a matte mid-blue shadow all over the lid, blend up beyond the crease line and along the base of the lower lashes."

"Next take a deep midnight navy shadow and apply strongly to the outer corners, out towards the temples in a "V" shape. Using a domed blender brush run the navy shadow along the base of the top and lower lashes. Using either a navy or black liner, encircle the eye along the base of the lashes.Run a white pencil along the inner rim of the eye for a fresh alternative to black. Finally sweep a soft matte blue shadow just under the arch of the brows. And finish with a layer of black followed by a layer of navy mascara."

Beauty looks straight off the catwalks, we love it!
