Spice up your usual French Manicure with colour

Spice up your usual French Manicure with colour

It's easy to forget about your nails when it comes to your beauty routine as the whole drying process can take up a lot of your time but don't neglect them as a flash of colour on your nails can really pick up an old outfit.

Now that the sun is shining, you can ditch the black and grey lacquers and go for some bright colours like orange, hot pink or violet, stay away from yellow though, no-one wants cigarette stained pinkies.

French manicures might be the sophisticated way to wear your polish but let's face it, it's not the fun. Why not give that trend a twist by swapping your usual blush pink base and white tips for a hot pink base with black tips.

We know it sounds extreme but the result is great, trust us.  Do the base first and then use stencils when painting on the tip. And if that colour combo doesn't appeal to you then you can mix and match to find one to match your outfit.

Another new take on nails is to leave the half moons at the bottom of your nail blank, this works particularly well with metallic shades. It's a bit tricky but we'll let you in on a trick, paint the whole nail and then use a corrector pen to remove the shape at the bottom , easy peasy!

New nails for a new season! We love it!
