Penelope Cruz shows off her clip-in fringe

Penelope Cruz rocked the red carpet at last night's BAFTA Award's with her new fringe and we can reveal that it was actually a clip in.

The fringe had us at FemaleFirst divided, was it sleek and chic or just that bit too short? After all eye-skimming fringes are hot news at the moment. It doesn't really matter if it was too short it seems as Penelope can just remove it at the end of the night and attach a longer one next time.

Celebrity hairstylist Charles Worthington revealed Penelope's secret on today's This Morning show. He was sat near Pen at the awards which he attended as Emilia Fox's date.

If you're going to try this look, we suggest going for as long a fringe as possible, as you don't know how far back it will need clipping. You can always trim the fringe once it is in place.

Obviously it goes without saying that you must match the hair to your own colour exactly. Nothing can look worse, or more obvious, than a fringe that is a different colour to the rest of your hair.

Keep the side lengths of your hair close to the fringe so that you can clip it in under them, and try not to swing your hair around too much. You don't want the fringe to become floppy on one side, or worse yet, fly out all together!

Ever had a fringe cut in, hated it and spent six months gripping it back while waiting for it to grow? Try this instead next time you take the plunge, it could save you a lot of pain and tears in the long run.
