Keep your skin glowing and fresh on holiday

Summer is fast approaching and of course we all want glowing, sun kissed skin and there are just a few simple things you have to do.

Jill Zander, founder of the Jill Zander Skin Rejuvenation Clinic, shares her top tips to keep skin looking beautiful in the summer sun and beyond.

Sun Protection

The best way to stop skin from ageing is to protect it from the sun and use a sunblock daily. Always include your neck, décolleté and backs of hands and reapply frequently. Wear a hat and large lensed sunglasses.

Sun spots, uneven pigmentation caused from an over production of melanin are not always that easy to treat once you have them and are a great case of concern for many women and men. An even toned skin speaks powerfully of youth.

Antioxidants

We become more sensitive as we get older to external stresses, as a result of free radicals produced by environmental pollution, car exhaust fumes, UVA and UVB and cigarette smoke. Invest in a scientifically proven home care regime to protect your skin with vital nutrients providing good antioxidant protection enriched with vitamins C and E.

Repair sun damage

When it comes to sun damage, vitamin A is the most valuable skin care nutrients applied to the skin. Vitamin A helps to smooth sun damage, giving a s mother, less wrinkled skin and also helps to even out skin tone.

Refine skin

Use a good facial scrub to remove oil, dirt, impurities and dead cells to improve texture and restore natural glow. Do this at night only.

Scent of summer

Never apply fragrance to the skin in the day. Oil of Bergamot, often used as a fixative, can cause photo sensitivity and pigmentary problems. Only apply in the evening.

Hormones

Take the pill at night so that hormonal peaks occur outside of daylight hours.

Moles matter

Keep an eye on your moles. If there are any signs of change in size, bleeding, scaly or itching, consult a doctor.
