Duchess Catherine on her wedding day

Duchess Catherine's wedding day perfume has gone on sale in the United States.

The scent worn by the 31-year-old royal the day she wed Britain's Prince William has been stocked by luxury store Henri Bendel in New York City, reports E! News.

Catherine wore Illuminum's floral White Gardenia Petals fragrance on her big day in April 2011 and the scent boasts nose-tingling hints of jasmine, lily of the valley and gardenia flowers.

However, royal enthusiasts hoping to smell like the duchess should be aware that the perfume comes with a price tag fit for royalty. Henri Bendel is selling the scent for $150 a bottle.

Catherine - who gave birth to her first child, Prince George, in July - teamed her Illuminum perfume with a stunning ivory satin and lace wedding gown designed by Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton.

The designer previously said she was honoured to be picked for the royal commission.

She enthused: "It was a precious, magical time that I'll always treasure, and I feel like she gave me a gift in many ways. I feel incredibly privileged.

"I remember standing in Westminster Abbey thinking, 'This is unreal.' It was like a fairy tale. And all I could think was, 'I hope I don't trip over.' I didn't understand the enormity of it until much nearer the wedding day. It was a magical experience."
