Lily Allen

Lily Allen

Lily Allen has been through that many style changes, it's a wonder that she's still the same person. When she first emerged on the music and fashion scene, she was known for her chav chic look and rocked the ball gown and trainers combo like nobody else could.

Then came the chunky earrings and funky ponytails, which became Lily's signature style. As she matured however, Lily started to adopt a more demure style, and as her interest in fashion grew, she emerged as a regular on the front row of some of the world's most glamorous couture shows.

She ditched the unflattering hair along with the chavvy earrings and instead had a funky fringe cut into her long dark locks. Lily also got rid of the dramatic make-up and toned down her look altogether, reinventing herself as a fashionable young women, rather than a young girl with lots of attitude and not very much style sense.

Lily undoubtedly has a penchant for Chanel, and is regularly spotted in new collections from the luxury line, with Karl Lagerfeld even branding her his muse a few seasons ago, high praise indeed for the young Lily.

However, in her desire to be 'in fashion' Lily has made some mistakes in her time; who could forget her decapitated Bambi dress, created by designer Giles? It looked great on the catwalk, but on Lily or perhaps any normal human being, it was a fashion disaster.

Last year was definitely one of Lily's most defining style changes, as she experimented with hair colour, crazy couture and paraded around topless for all to see. Her miscarriage in January signaled a depressing time in Lily's life as she reached for the bleach and dyed her almost jet-black locks peroxide blonde.

Despite this being against almost every style rule in the book, Lily actually suited blonde locks and after the initial orange stage had been corrected, she re-emerged as a stylish and chic blonde. However, this look was short lived and after her escapades in Cannes, where she was reportedly escorted off a yacht for parading topless, Lily dyed her hair bright pink.

This was one of the worst looks for Lily, as the colour looked horrendous on the young star and it seemed to signal she was in trouble. Her fluctuating weight battle and depression lead Lily to shy away for a while and work on her new album in peace.

Last week Lily was spotted looking trim, toned and stylish once more, as she was papped leaving a London venue in a leopard print top, blazer and denim hotpants. Her hair was sleek and glossy and she seemed to have adapted a Daisy Lowe inspired look, which lets face it, can only be a good thing.

She was also spotted giggling among thousands of balloons last week, as she filmed a promo for her new single. Wearing a vintage tea dress, dolly shoes and a blue cardigan, Lily looked amazing and hopefully this style change will stick around for a good while to come yet. Watch this space...
