Top Music Producer and His Dog Maude Stick Up for Animals in a New Ad for PETA2

The only difference between our 'best friends' and animals killed for their fur is how we treat them

Named 'Best Dressed' by GQ magazine Mark Ronson wants everyone to know that it's best to dress .. without fur.

The Grammy- and BRIT Award-winning producer appears with his rescued canine companion Maude beside the tagline "If You Wouldn't Wear Your Dog, Please Don't Wear Any Fur" in the latest anti-fur ad for peta2 US, the youth arm of PETA.

For a limited time, visitors to peta2.com can register to win a free "No Fur" pin.

Animals on fur farms live in tiny, filthy cages where they endure incredible physical and psychological stress before they are electrocuted, gassed or have their necks broken. China, which is now the world's leading fur exporter, has no laws to protect the millions of animals who are killed for fur, many of whom are dogs and cats. Animals on a Chinese fur farm were recently filmed panting and blinking as they were skinned alive.

Ronson joins a growing list of musicians and other celebrities, including Kasabian, The Rakes, The Courteneers and The Wombats, who've teamed up with peta2 to oppose fur.

"The only difference between our 'best friends' and animals killed for their fur is how we treat them", says PETA Europe Director Robbie LeBlanc. "No one knows better than a sharp dresser like Mark Ronson that with all the fashionable alternatives available, there's absolutely no excuse for wearing fur."
