Who is Katy copying?

Who is Katy copying?

We've noticed a bit of celebrity copying going on of late, with the newer fashionistas clearly taking a bit more than just inspiration from their style icons.

As much as they'd like to think they're being original, everyone's style has to start somewhere but unfortunately for our celebs, no-one told them they shouldn't copy the entire look and style of that person.

For example, last month Lily Allen was pictured in a funky leopard print leotard complete with denim shorts, a fitted blazer, and apparently a new sense of style.

Now let's be honest, Lily has not been well known for her fashion sense in the past, so us fashionistas rejoiced when we saw pics of the new Lily, complete with a whole new head of glossy dark locks and a chunky fringe.

Then we realised exactly whose style she was trying to bag, as model of the moment, Daisy Lowe had worn the same catwalk creation a few months earlier, and oddly enough she has long dark locks, with a blunt fringe too. Coincidence? we're not convinced...

Then there's the Geldof sisters who, as much as we love them for their quirkiness, are not entirely responsible for their look. Peaches seems to be channeling Kate Moss' grungy fashion of late and her younger sister Pixie is no better.

Her celebrity style secret is modelling herself upon Agyness Deyn's fashion choices, most notably her avant-garde look sported back in November. Agyness worked a stunning trouser suit complete with slanting hat and killer red heels, fast forward a few months and Pixie has found a way to replicate the look her way.

The trouser suit is almost the same and she'd even worn a crop top underneath, although we do give her points for wearing a headband as opposed to nicking Aggy's look completely and wearing a hat.

Katy Perry's style has been hailed as a huge success ever since she stepped onto the music and fashion scene, but where does her inspiration come from?

It's been driving us nuts thinking who she looks like and now we've finally landed on an answer, drum roll please...Dita Von Teese. Yep, the savvy style queen has all but become the younger version of the burlesque star, and we can't imagine Dita's too happy about it.

That said, Katy has been rocking the 50s style in a more cheeky way, as opposed to Dita's demure approach, so despite being the obvious copycat, we think her homage to Dita is nothing but a compliment.

Then there are those Hollywood bigwigs, who constantly nick each others style. Just look at Katie Holmes for heavens sake, before she met Victoria Beckham, she had no style and a very 90s haircut. Fast forward a few years and she's now a chic and stylish actress, who looks her age and knows how to dress...all thanks to a certain Mrs Beckham we think.
