Nicole Kidman isn't known for taking style risks on the red carpet, but at Sunday night's Screen Actor's Guild Awards the actress made a very unexpected fashion choice.
Kidman walked the red carpet in an emerald green Gucci dress, which was decorated with parrot heads and feathers, leaving Twitter divided over wether or not she'd had a fashion hit or miss.
The floor length Gucci creation was custom made for the Australian star and was decorated with green sequins. The top half featured a plunging neckline, but it was the shoulders which caught everyone's attention, as each featured a parrot head and an array of blue and green feathers.
Nicole accessorised with simple diamond jewellery and sported natural looking makeup and her hair in a simple bun. Her husband, country singer Keith Urban, didn't partake in his wife's parrot theme and opted for a classic black tux
On twitter some observers were less than impressed by the actress showing off her quirkier side. "So happy that Nicole Kidman found someone to cover her shift at the Emerald City Gates so she could attend the #sagawards tonight," tweeted one viewer.
Another wrote: "Nicole Kidman's dress would have been EVERYTHING without those damn parrots." While a third simply stated: "Nicole Kidman has lost her damn mind."
But other viewers enjoyed the bold look, particularly Sunrise host Samantha Armytage who shared a photo of the look on Instagram, Tuesday, and wrote, "Absolutely [love] this dress!"
Another tweeter shared: "This quirky and unique @gucci gown is a step away from #NicoleKidman usual style but I love it!! So different and cool! (sic)." While a second gushed "How about the dress that Nicole Kidman was wearing! Stunning! ...Just like her! (sic)"
So what do you think, was Nicole Kidman's SAG Awards dress a red carpet risk worth taking or did it just ruffle your feathers?
