17% would dump a man for bad footwear choice

We all know that what we wear can make all the difference in impressing that special someone, but it seems that it's not just ladies killer heels can leave a lasting mark.

A new survey has revealed that 17% of women would consider dumping a date if he was wearing the wrong footwear.

The research, conducted by Rubbersole.co.uk also found the sexiest male footwear to be loafers, with the popular trainer receiving mixed reviews.

Most recently Gemma Collines and Chloe Simm from the BAFTA award winning The Only Way is Essex have even been filmed talking about how they would make excuses to leave a first date early if they felt the man was wearing the wrong pair of shoes!

15% of women surveys said that trainers were their least favourite footwear on men, although unsurprisingly cowboy boys were considered the worst boot for a man to wear.

The classic stiletto still proves to be the most popular for women to wear, with a staggering 55% saying that they felt most sexy when slipping into a pair of them. This was closely followed by the knee high boot and the recent trend setting court shoe, both receiving 17% of the vote.

While they may be a holiday go-to for comfort and wearability - the flip flop didn't a single vote in the poll.

Though we all may in denial as to how much we ladies spend on shoes and therefore how many pairs we have, the research discovered that over a quarter have between 16 and 20 pairs of shoes.
