Anna Wintour was on the comittee
Alexander Wang has been chosen as the fifth CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund recipient.
At a glittering dinner gala last night, Wang was awarded the top honours, taking home $200,000 and a year’s worth of mentoring.
Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai of Vena Cava and Albertus Q. Swanepoel of Albertus Quartus, were runners-up this year, but still pocket $50,000 and a business mentor.
The winners beat out finalists Richard Chai, Jason Wu, Irene Neuwirth, Alejandro Ingelmo, Juan Carlos Obando, Obedient Sons & Daughters and Organic.
It was a momentus night for most last night, as the dinner also conincided with the Fashion Fund's fifth anniversary.
John Galliano was the night's key notespeaker, while members of the commitee consisted of Diane Von Furstenberg and Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
