High street stores H&M and Zara have made the top five of Europe's most valuable retailers, Drapers reports.

H&M came top of the list, and was valued at £10.2 billion and Zara, which came fifth was valued at £4 billion.

Mango and Marks & Spencer were the only other fashion representatives in the table. Marks & Spencer came sixth with a value of £3.7 billion and Mango seventeenth with £688 million.

It was the second successive year that H&M topped the table and the first time Marks & Spencer appeared, replacing C&A as last year's fourth fashion retailer in the list. Surely a boost for the British clothing industry.

what? No Topshop? Looks like Sir Philip Green will have to tell Kate Moss to pull her finger out if they want to make the list next year!
