Kate Moss has been responsible for soaring magazine sales after showing off peroxide blonde hair on the cover of i-D magazine.

The magazine has rocketed to the top of the sales charts since the supermodel appeared on the front cover of it's November issue.

Borders bookshops have reported a 56% sales increase across 42 of it's stores in the UK in the last week – and a 900% increase at its store on London’s Oxford Street.

Copies of the magazine started flying off the shelves almost as soon as it went on sale last Saturday (14th October) and is now sitting pretty at the top of the Culture charts. On the first day the magazine was on shelves, i-D outsold a string of top titles including Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Vanity Fair and Closer.

These figures will be welcoming news for Kate who's position as fashion's number one has been questioned over the last few weeks following predictions of a drop in popularity now the 'coke hype' has died down.

In 2005, a newspaper printed pictures connected to alleged drug taking and she has become well known in recent years for her turbulent relationship with ex-boyfriend Pete Doherty.

Periodicals Buyer for Borders, Matt Cooper, said “The sales figures show that Kate Moss is well and truly back in favour with the British public. Copies of the November issue of i-D have been flying off the shelves across our stores and we expect to sell thousands more between now and the end of the month.”
