Matthew Williamson is set to have one of his busiest years to date next year, as the designer steps up his expansion plans.

Since leaving his role as creative director at Pucci earlier this year, Williamson has been busier than ever, collaborating with high-street chain H&M and opening a flagship store in New York.

The designer was reportedly looking forward to a relaxing time after stepping down at Pucci, but with plans for retail expansion earmarked for 2009, there's no chance of that happening any time soon.

2010 will also mark the launch of his first signature menswear line, so the back end of 2009 will undoubtedly be devoted to making sure that's a success too.

The brand plans to expand abroad to Dubai and Moscow, although plans for further stores in LA have been put on hold for the foreseeable future as the world rides out this economic crisis.
