The wedding and the fashion: Zara Phillips & Mike Tindall

It may not have been as eagerly anticipated as the wedding between Prince William and Catherine Middleton, but this weekend was undoubtedly a special time for Zara Phillips and her new hubby Mike Tindall.

Miss Phillips looked incredible in a modest Parvin gown with a full skirt in silk faille and duchess satin. The dress was finished off with a pleated corset bodice and tulle veil.

Pippa Middleton was also in attendence in a knock out red dress with three quarter length sleeves.

Though the day lacked the pomp and circumstance that came with the first royal wedding of the year, there was plenty of glamour in both fashion and the guest list.

Where Kate and Wills had the Beckhams, Zara and Mike had The Saturdays Una Healy and Coronation Street's Catherine Kelly attending their day, wearing some seriously stylish summer attire.

Continuing the royal tradition, Zara wore a diamond tiara that was lent to her by her Mother Princess Anne, that completed her 'perfect bride' look beautifully.

The groom wore a bespoke suit from London based tailors Cad and the Dandy. He looked every bit the rugby star and his groomsmen were all kitted out with matching suits.

Though we're sure many feared Kate Middleton upstaging Zara (perhaps even the bride herself), the new royal wore a muted gold coat dress with floral detail by Jane Troughton and a tilted cream hat to match her favourite LK Bennett pumps and clutch.

The Duchess even continued her recycled theme from the pre-wedding party when she wore an elegant emerald green, knee length Diana Von Furstenberg dress she wore in LA last month, as she wore her wedding outfit for Laura Parker Bowls' wedding in 2006.

Pippa Middleton was also in attendence in a knock out red dress with three quarter length sleeves.

Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice looked like they had learnt their lesson from April somewhat with a more reserved approach to their outfits. There was the mighty improvement without that pretzel hat that caused so much style controversy.

All in all it was the perfect royal wedding. Plenty of celebrity faces, great weather, a hefty crowd of well wishers and of course...a blushing bride.
