Top British Beauties Revealed...

Research commissioned by shopping channel QVC to celebrate the start of their Beauty Month has been aimed at finding the top 100 British beauties of all time, with some both equally expected and shock results.

According to the study, which asked 2,000 men and women to vote on who they thought were the most beautiful women from over the decades, the results found the top lady stands at an average on 5 ft 5" with blue eyes, dark brown hair and is an actress by profession.

It may come as no surprise that Audrey Hepburn was found to be the most beautiful Brit of all time with 11% of the vote. The How To Steal A Million actress' timeless looks and elegant grace saw her see of competition from glamour-puss Elizabeth Taylor and the late Princess Diana whose natural beauty has always made her a national favourite and saw her take third place in the poll.

More contemporary names that made the top 10 include Cheryl Cole, Kelly Brook and Holly Willoughby, showing old-school glamour a thing or two about beauty today. Despite their escape across the pond Kate Beckinsale and Catherin Zeta Jones made the list in an impressive eighth and fourth place respectively, proving their striking looks remain strong favourites with Brits today.

Acting is clearly the winning profession with a staggering 46 out of 100 of ladies being on the big screen
