Designer William Tempest has been confirmed as the recipient of the new Vauxhall Fashion Scout Merit Award.

We tipped the Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden finalist for success back in December, and this latest announcement means that Tempest can now stage a solo catwalk show at London Fashion Week next month.

The relative fashion newcomer hit headlines back in November, when he dressed Emma Watson for her Tale Of Despereaux premiere, sparking huge interest in him and his work.

However with stints at Giles Deacon and Jean Charles de Castelbajac under his belt, in addition to designing pieces for Madonna, he'd already established himself as a one to watch, within the industry.

At only 22 years of age, Tempest has secured the three-season long sponsorship, where he will be mentored by the people who first helped Giles and Christopher Kane achieve the dizzy heights of success.
