House of Fraser Catwalk

House of Fraser Catwalk

The world's longest catwalk has been launched to celebrate the start of London Fashion Week.

The catwalk, which is a relay from Land’s End to John O’Groats, was created by House of Fraser.

The models will start their walk on Monday at a rainy Land’s End is predicted to take a total of just over 382 hours.

Today, they passed the baton outside the doors of the Natural History Museum, the venue hosting London Fashion Week, 392 miles and 138 hours into the route.

With the hype of London Fashion Week around her, model Lisa Omand whose work includes spreads for Sunday Times Style, Elle and a John Richmond campaign walked down Exhibition Way approaching the end of her stint. She then passed the baton to the waiting Glamour and Elle model Lisa Onysko, who has graced the catwalks of Faberge, to continue walking North towards John O’Groats.

The catwalk, which is being walked by a combination of models, volunteers and House of Fraser staff, is a total distance of 1193.6 miles (1920.9 km). The catwalk continues through the night and will not stop for rain or snow, with the route taking in some of the UK’s most famous landmarks including Stone Henge, The Angel of the North and Edinburgh Castle in order to give many of the major UK cities a taste of the glamour.
