The 51-year-old identical twin brothers and fashion designer's Dean and Dan Caten - who debuted their men's fashion range in 1994, which saw a women's capsule follow nine years later - have revealed their sibling was the catalyst behind their "lasting business" and their 22 years at the helm of the fashion industry.
Speaking to Candid Magazine about their style muse and the person who ignited their successful career, the duo said: "We started when we were young making clothes for our sisters. Time passed and our passion became stronger and stronger.
"We realised that we wanted to make something of our own and fashion, which would be our lasting 'business.' So, we moved to New York City to study and practice, then to Italy where we had the opportunity to work with different brands. In 1995, we had our first men's collection show."
Meanwhile the entrepreneur's - who received a star on Toronto's Walk of Fame in 2009 - have revealed their fashion brand was designed for people who are "not afraid to dare".
Speaking about their label, the Toronto-born mogul's explained: "The Dsquared2 DNA has always preserved its distinctive codes, and nowadays it is just more 'aware' and has naturally evolved: Canadian wit and refined Italian tailoring combined with an attention to details. Strong and self-confident women and men wear Dsquared2 - women and men that are not afraid to dare."
And the duo - who were awarded the GQ Men of the Year Breakout Design Award in 2003 - have teased they have more plans to continue with their successful clothing range in the future.
They said: "What's the plan for next ten years? Well, first and above all we hope to continue."
