Kate Bosworth has launched her own fashion and style app.

The 'Homefront' star has created 'Style Thief' - which uses the tagline 'Snap & Steal' - and allows users to take a photo, image search fashion items in the shot and buy them in just a few clicks.

Kate, 31 - who teamed up with a co-owner of speciality retail chain American Rag Cie and a former president of Gemstar-TV Guide Interactive to create the app - intends it to become a "tool" to combat "fashion envy".

The actress explained at the 'Style Thief' launch party at the Chateau Marmont, in West Hollywood on Wednesday (09.07.14): "Our intention is to be a tool for consumers to find something and ultimately purchase. It's as easy as that."

She later told WWD: "Everyone has fashion envy. Everyone can relate to that feeling of looking at an editorial, for example -- or a friend, or the runway, for that matter -- wanting to steal something exactly as you're seeing it, or something similar."

'Style Thief' has teamed up with more than 300 retailers - including Forever 21, Swell.com, Madison, Saks Fifth Avenue and Moda Operandi - to source the items and will receive a commission from the sales.

Although the app was originally designed for the iPhone, it will also be made available to Android phone users later this year.

Meanwhile, Kate - who was named the face of Calvin Klein Jeans in 2008 - also launched her own jewellery line, JewelMint, with her friend and celebrity stylist, Cher Coulter in 2010 and designed her second capsule collection for Topshop at the end of last year.
