Léa Seydoux has signed up to be the new face of Louis Vuitton.

The 'Spectre' actress is to work as an ambassador with the French fashion house and has joined the label's family which already includes Alicia Vikander, Michelle Williams, Jennifer Connelly and Doona Bae.

Seydoux - who has been shot by Alasdair McLellan to mark the announcement - will appear in new advertising campaigns will represent Louis Vuitton at the company's major events.

The 30-year-old star's first official duty is to accompany Nicolas Ghesquière, Vuitton's artistic director of women's collections, to the UNICEF Ball in Los Angeles on January 12.

Seydoux will wear a custom-made Louis Vuitton gown to the Ball and for future premieres and awards shows she will be expected to dress in the label's clothes.

Speaking about her new ambassador role with the label, she said: "I feel extremely proud at the thought of representing such a strong symbol of French elegance, an iconic brand whose initials are known the world over. I deeply admire Nicolas Ghesquière's work, especially his newness. His incessant search for novelty is also highly impressive."

This is far from being Seydoux's first foray into the world of fashion. The blonde beauty appeared in the Levi's television advert 'Dangerous Liaison' and was the face of Prada's 2012 Resort line and the 2013 and 2014 campaigns for Prada's fragrances Candy and Candy Florale respectively.

Seydoux has also worked with Miu Miu and Rag & Bone.
