The 28-year-old actress had to extend her workout regime prior to the star studded bash, which took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday (26.02.17), because she wanted to look flawless in her "revealing" gown.

The brunette beauty documented her preparation for the prestigious bash on Vanity Fair's Instagram Story that lasts for 24 hours on the photo-sharing site, which revealed all the details about her work-out, pampering session and lunch before the styling took place.

Speaking in a string of short clips, she said: "And we're in. Hey guys happy Oscar Sunday. Step one got to get that blood flowing and get them endorphins at the gym.

"Between me and all of you guys, my dress tonight is quiet revealing, so I am going to have to go on an extra long run today, but shh don't tell anybody."

And she captioned the video: "I trust that that you guys can keep a secret.

"No pain. no gain (sic)."

The 'The Vampire Diaries' star then panned to the statistics on her treadmill, which showed she had been using the equipment for over 30 minutes.

Nina then enjoyed a "little facial", which used ionic currents to kill dirt and bacteria in her skin to leave her with a clear complexion for the ceremony, before tucking into a salmon salad.

She said: "Alright so, prep day for the Oscars starting at Kate Somerville. Getting a little facial. Excuse the no make-up look."

The beauty expert then explained the procedure, she said: "So this is a high frequency machine, what it does is it gives off ionic current and that current kills bacteria in the skin.

"Alright, it's game time. I'm about to get ready for the Oscars.

"Getting my nails done."

The Bulgarian-Canadian star also had a few inches chopped off of her dark tresses moments shortly before gracing the red carpet.

She said: "Okay, guess what guys, I am actually going to go even shorter."

And across the clip, it read: "Every inch counts when you have short hair (sic)."
