Redheads

Kingston University fashion student Jonathon Long’s collection is inspired by red hair. 

Shocked by experts’ predictions that there may well be few natural redheads by the end of this century, Jonathon took the many shades of ginger as a colour palette for his womenswear collection. 

Mixing block colours of burnt oranges and reds, his outfits include a mix of different textures such as silk satin, teamed with wool suitings and brushed mohair knit.

Wanting to create a sexy yet slouchy silhouette for women, Jonathon, 22 and from Thames Ditton, rooted his designs in masculinity. 

Inspiration for the silhouette came from a vintage Claude Montana jacket with exaggerated shoulders combined with the cut of men’s tailored trousers.
