Flirty Flapper

Twenties glamour is making a come back this season and the subtlety sexy flapper girl dress is the perfect look for Christmas time.

Kate Moss showed off the ultimate flapper girl style at this year's Fashion Rocks when she dug out a vintage beaded dress from under her bed. The dress, which she originally wore the night she fell in love with Johnny Depp, was recreated using £40,000 of Swarovski crystals. A copy of the dress went on sale at TopShop for £250 and sold out days later.

The flapper is fab for pear shapes. The free hanging style hides curvy hips and thunder thighs but also shows off slim shoulders therefore giving the whole body the proportions of the slimmer top half.

You can go as simple or as glam as you want with a flapper. Choose a simple sophisticated black dress with an embellished belt or neckline like this one from Topshop (£50) or go for full on glamour with all over sequin or bead detail.

Minxy Mini-Prom

The mini-prom has been huge for autumn/winter 07 and there are some great takes on this fifties style around this Christmas.

We showed how Sienna Miller worked the mini prom at an awards ceremony in September- she chose a simple black number and brightened it up with a red clutch bag. Tis’ the season for glamour so you can really go to town.

There are some amazingly hot mini proms in the shops now including this gorgeous satin number from Dorothy Perkins (£40). It’s in this season’s must-have purple and also features the latest cinch waist trend to create a gorgeous hourglass shape.

Sexy Sequins

Christmas is a time to sparkle and sequins are huge at the moment so what more excuse do you need to work the bling.

Sequins are perfect for adding some glitz to a simple cut. This flattering batwing dress from Warehouse (£120) is dressed up with lots of sparkle and is perfect for a party or big night out.

If you’re not comfortable wearing a girly party dress then a simple smock or t-shirt dress with lots of sequin detail is the perfect way for you to shine at the office party. Team it with some leggings or footless tights and some sexy heels for a total glam but comfy look.

Luring LBD

The little black dress was made for Christmas parties. It’s simple, no-fuss glamour and sophistication.

Every woman knows the value of a great LBD and how essential it is for every wardrobe so why not update yours this Christmas for a treat that lasts the whole year round.

The highstreet is full with loads of modern variations on the classic LBD this season so there’s something out there for every shape and size. This dress from Wallis (£60) is great from pear shapes. It draws attention to the bust and slim waist but hides curvy hips.

The key to the perfect LBD look is in the accessories. A simple yet flattering dress can be given the ultimate party season treatment by adding some sparkle with a glitzy necklace and a sexy cinch belt. Don’t be afraid to experiment with accessories- the plain nature of the LBD gives you the perfect opportunity to mix it up with a bold colour you wouldn’t normally dare to wear for a fearless festive look.
