The key to keeping metallic clothing looking sophisticated and not flashy is to choose simple pieces. Metallic shoes are great for adding something to an outfit. Get an ultra-high pair and wear them with tights now and bare legs in the summer. You can wear them with everything, so make sure if you only buy one thing this year, its some fab shoes!
When choosing metallic, go for a foiled look instead of sparkly or glittery which can be a bit gaudy. Try a metallic pink or purple, instead of just silver and gold if you want to be different.
Don't mix metallic if you're wearing a dress or top. It should be one block colour to be the focal point of your outfit. Lipsy has a great selection of metallic dresses.
