Girls Aloud and the St.Trinian's Girls rock the straw boater look

We're all for accessorizing here at FemaleFirst, and with the new season officially upon us, it's time to look at some funky straw accessories for spring.

We first became a little obsessed with this fashion trend, when we saw Girls Aloud and co. sporting the look for the St. Trinian's movie back in 2007.

Their rebellious schoolgirl look, complete with straw boater hats became a cult classic, especially when the other leading ladies, like Gemma Arterton and Tallulah Riley sported the style too.

They are our prime source of inspiration this season, as we extend the trend to bags, jewellery and shoes for the lazy summer months ahead.

We also reckon they'll be a nice edition to your wardrobe to pair alongside all the slouchy tees, retro denim and 80s looks, which will no doubt be lining the high-street any day now.

Head to the beach with your trendy straw tote, or protect your locks from the sun with a oh-so-chic floppy hat, ala J-Lo, or why not start a new fashion craze for straw jewellery?

Here's our pick of some fab straw accessories on the high-street at the moment...

Wedges, £25, Dorothy Perkins; Straw Tote, £10, Accessorize; Straw Shopper, £30, Warehouse; Pink Straw Trilby, £20, Topshop; Belt, £15, ASOS; Watermelon Bag, £20, Topshop
