Maggie Gyllenhaal in Lanvin

Animal print styles will be around for another season but this time they come with a twist, colour. Skins are going technicolor for Spring with DKNY showcasing a neon pink and yellow snake skin dress at their Spring show.

If you think this look is a bit much, you can try a subtler take on it with accessories. Models at Matthew Williamson's shows held snake print bags in traditional nude shades but with bright yellow detail on the strap and fastening.

Celebrities have been quick to catch onto this trend. Maggie Gyllenhaal worked the red carpet at the Golden Globes in a turquoise leopard print dress. The floor length Lanvin gown proved that this look can work for formal occasions as well.

This look is a little more fun then the muted beige and browns we're used to seeing with this trend. It is also means the style can be adapted to whatever the hot colour of the moment is.

Get on this trend early by picking up anything animal print in bright colours or for a less obvious touch, try mock croc bags or shoes in anything other than brown or black.
