Versace SS09
This season foil is going to be hot news but we're not talking silver pieces, as it is summer we're all about colours so think metallic jewel shades and you're on the right track.
Designers including Prada, Derek Lam and Versace showed metallic dresses in their Spring/Summer 09 collections and Charlize Theron has transferred the trend to the red carpet.
While silver and gold still look great they are traditionally party season colours so if you're feeling brave go for colours like fuchsia or emerald green in metallic fabrics. You don't have to go all out though block colour dresses with metallic patterns, as worn by Diane Kruger in Cannes this weekend, work just as well.
When accessorising remember the luxe effect of your dress and avoid metallic accessories, chunky wooden bangles and simple black heels work best. One sparkly bracelet or a pair of earrings will still look ok just be careful not to go overboard.
You can mix this in with the colour block trend by adding a black waist belt to dresses, or go Grecian with draped style dresses like Charlize modelled. It's a versatile trend and that's the sort of trend we love!
