Peaches and Pixie Geldof are FROW regulars

As the spotlight fades on Paris Fashion Week and we bid farewell to the runway until September, we have to ask- is it actually about the fashion anymore?

We covered the trends and the crazy imagination of the designers, but lets be honest we were much more interested in who was gracing the front row of each show.

In New York, London, Milan and Paris we were all eagerly anticipating who would be making an appearance at certain shows, as despite the recession there was still a pretty excitable buzz surrounding fashion week.

Don't get us wrong, some of the fashion showcased over the last four weeks have been breathtaking- Alexander McQueen and Lagerfeld anyone?- but others have been distinctly dull, made only more bearable because of the celebs who have attended.

Over the years we've become obsessed with all things celebrity based, from what they're doing to what they are wearing, and fashion shows now heavily rely on this sort of publicity to get their designs noticed.

Marc Jacobs took the brave move of cutting his guest list in half and shunning celebrity guests as a mark to the recession, and it paid off to an extent, with Victoria Beckham raving about seeing his collection online. Volia, maximum publicity!

This season it's been pretty poor in terms of the A-listers venturing out for Fashion Week, particularly in both New York and London, which had virtually a zero celeb count.

Nicole Richie and Leighton Meester made a few appearances at New York Fashion Week, while London managed to pull in Peaches and Pixie Geldof, Tasmin Egerton, Nicola Roberts and Daisy Lowe to their front rows.

Milan faired a lot better attracting the likes of Freida Pinto, Eva Mendes, Kate Hudson and Scarlett Johansson to their big shows, but we think this season it was Paris who had the edge.

Kate Moss, Beth Ditto, Freida Pinto, Claudia Schiffer, Roisin Murphy, Eva Green and Charlize Theron all made a splash at Paris Fashion Week this season, making it the clear winner.

Paris also managed to attract attention for Vivienne Westwood's catwalk collection too, as Pamela Anderson popped out of her dress and bared her boob to a stunned audience.

Yes, it was all about the fashion on that occasion clearly...
