We're onto part four of our whistle-stop tour of the fashion world already- time flies when you're having fun!

There are so many fashion labels hitting the catwalk these days that it's hard to keep track of who's who so Female First have come up with some simple conversation key notes to make sure you know what you're talking about in even the fashionable of crowds.

Halston- was an iconic designer of the 1970s dressing stars like Bianca Jagger, Liza Minnelli, Anjelica Huston, Lauren Bacall, Babe Paley, and Elizabeth Taylor. His Ultrasuede shirt dress became his trademark and was worn by anyone who's anyone in the infamous Studio 54. Although Halston died in 1990 the brand still lives on after being recently revived during February's New York Fashion week under creative director Marco Zanini.

Hedi Slimane- is a much talked about name in modern fashion. He got his big break when he was handpicked by Pierre Bergé to work on Yves Saint Laurent's relaunch of their YSL Rive Gauche Homme line in 1997. Three years later he was appointed creative head of Dior Homme where his razor sharp tailoring was hugely popular. Slimane famously designed the suit worn by Brad Pitt in his wedding to Jennifer Aniston. He left Dior in 2007 after months of negotiations so that he could concentrate on his own projects.

Hermes- was founded as a leather goods retailer by Thierry Hermès way back in 1837 but these days it is a popular high end fashion label. Hermes is most known for it's handbags. The Sac à dépêches handbag-which was later renamed the Kelly- rose to fame after Grace Kelly was pictured with one in 1937. The Birkin is an equally famous handbag produced by Hermes after Jean-Louis Dumas-Hermes spotted 80s icon Jane Birkin with an overspilling bag on a flight he was also on.

Hugo Boss- is an internationally reknowned fashion house specialising in men's tailoring. However before Hugo Boss started designing the men's suits that they are now famous for the German based company made uniforms for the Nazi party during the Second World War. These days they have a much more mainstream appeal and have various menswear and womenswear lines including popular sportswear collections.
