Lupita Nyong'o made a rare fashion misstep last night

As well as plenty of stylish looks hitting the red carpet at the 2014 Met Gala, there were certainly some eyesore looks too.

Unfortunately some of our fashion favourites took a misstep at the Met Ball and we were left feeling disappointed and wondering how can such bad looks happen to such beautiful women.

First up, Rita Ora, who is undoubtedly a hit and miss when she leaves the house. The singer wore a Donna Karan Atelier cream and gold gown with so much going on it was hard to look at this look for too long. With a tulle train, strap detail on the arm and strappy thigh-high heels there was too much going on with this look that was paired with slicked back hair and a bold red lip.

One stylish celeb we never thought we would be including on the worst dressed list was Lupita Nyong’o and yet here we have to thanks to her disastrous Prada flapper number. The custom number was made of brown slip dress, layered under a emerald-green netted dress embellished with glass beads, crystals and feathers. What’s more she added a matching emerald headband, green suede embellished sandals and a green clutch all by Prada. This was a statement look to say the least, and one that, in our eyes, didn’t pay off. What are your feelings toward the look?

Maggie Gyllenhaal looked tragic in her Valentino Fall 2014 jewel-toned number which she paired with a matching cape. The circle print is certainly eye-catching; add to that another dramatic piece like a matching cape to a gown it gets a little too much for the eyes.

Rounding out our worst dressed list at the Met Gala is Kate Upton who was dressed by Dolce & Gabbana. The dress highlights her beautiful womanly figure, but again the whole look is too fussy, from the layers of tiers, train, corset waistband, flower crown and then a selection of jewels. It’s certain she looks like an Italian muse, but had she rid herself of something as small as the jewellery this look would have fared a whole lot better in our eyes.

Is there anyone we’ve missed off the worst dressed list?
