Trend Alert: Gladiator Heels

Gladiator sandals have been quietly creeping up on us for the last couple of summers and this year they're back but this time they've got killer heels.

Jessica Alba, Hilary Duff and Roisin Murphy have all been seen hitting the red carpet in a pair of gladiator heels over the last few months and now the trend is heading for the high street too,

We first saw gladiator heels on the catwalk in September when Balenciaga and Givenchy gave us some awesome knee high strappy heels that looked straight out of ancient Rome but the high street versions we'll be wearing this summer are a little bit toned down.

Tan and black are the most wearable gladiator colours. Straps and buckles are a must have for summer sandals and the odd zip can give the gladiator look a funky twist- especially up the back of the heel.

Gladiator sandals also look good with a wedge or platform heel so don't be afraid to wear whatever heel you feel most comfortable in.
