H&M AW14

H&M AW14

H&M Studio unveiled their Autumn/Winter 14 collection last night in Paris, showing a collection that’s the perfect balance between feminine and masculine.

The androgynous mood of the collection was created with slip dresses and draped tops worn under masculine blazers, bikers and aviator jackets.

There was a stellar A-List front row too, Jessica Alba, Solange Knowles, Olivia Palermo and Jourdan Dunn were just some of the 600 guests at the Grand Palais during Paris Fashion Week.

Miranda Kerr said: “It’s so good to be at H&M Studio in Paris to see this limited edition collection. H&M is such a wonderful brand – it’s affordable, wearable and very fashion forward.”

There was plenty of texture to be had from the collection too, ensuring the black items were given a luxe touch. Fabrics included silk crepe, silk satin, fine cashmere and velvet with sequins, stone embroidery and faux fur coats adding further details.

Jessica Alba said: “I love H&M. The way I dress I mix things together, and I love to shop at H&M, I always find something to wear when I’m there.”

H&M Studio is the new named for H&M’s seasonal collection of key pieces, this collection will be available in 250 stores worldwide, as well as online, from September 4 2014.

The historical Grand Palais was transformed into an abstract cityscape for the show, complete with graphic architectural lines and billboards punctuating the space. Up-and-coming French artist HollySiz gave a live performance on stage throughout the show, which was also live streamed through hm.com to a global audience. French fashion TV expert Mademoiselle Agnès interviewed celebrities and VIP guests, and took the cameras backstage before the show began, giving the global audience a truly front row experience.

Each season the dedicated H&M Studio design team will create a limited edition collection of the hottest must-have looks and statement pieces.

“I loved the mix of feminine and masculine aesthetics for autumn at H&M Studio. Slip dresses and draped tops are the new essentials, especially when worn with blazers or biker jackets. It’s about taking the Parisian spirit and bringing it to the H&M world,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M Head of Design, New Development.
