William Chambers Millinery AW14

William Chambers Millinery AW14

If you’re not a fan of head wear then we challenge you not to fall in love with the Queen of Scots collection from William Chambers Millinery.

A beautiful selection of luxurious pieces that are adorned with pearls, crystals and more.

William Chambers Millinery has once again been invited by the British Fashion Council to show in Headonism, the Stephen Jones-curated exhibition at Somerset House during London Fashion Week.

William says: “I’m delighted to be showing at Headonism for my fifth season – it is a unique platform for milliners and I am so grateful to Stephen Jones and BFC for their continued support of the initiative.

“2014 will be a historic year for Scotland in many ways, so it seems appropriate that a controversial figure from Scotland and Britain’s history became my inspiration for this collection. I was not only inspired by the clothes and jewellery of Mary, Queen of Scots, but also by her conviction in what she believed.

“The woman who wears a statement piece from my new collection will surely share that outlook towards style.”

In the rich, deep, luxurious new collection, Chambers’ trademark outsize flowers and bands of gold are joined by swathes of feathers and clusters of crystals. Hand-made prickly peacock feather thistles and tiny pearl droplets also appear amongst the twists and turns of the collection. Also present is delicate laser cut brass detailing, created by jewellery designer Georgina Wiseman, with whom Chambers collaborated for this collection.

An autumnal colour palette of claret, navy, moss green, aubergine, black, gold and snow white is used throughout the range of coolies, berets, trilbies, giant upsweeps and Milano twists.

If hats aren’t you’re thing at the minute, they certainly will be, come AW14.
