Sarong

Sarong

It was 10 years ago now but it feels like yesterday when David Beckham started off the trend for wearing sarongs.

It was in 1998 when David hit tabloids headlines for showing his feminine side by stepping out in a wrap around sarong and flip flops but soon we all wanted a piece of the hottest beach look of the year.

We wore them in every colour and every print you could imagine- the bolder the better- and their wasn't a high street store in the UK that wasn't stocking them by the shed load.

To this day a sarong is still a great holiday wardrobe item. They are easy to trhow on over a bikini and take up hardly any valuable suitcase space.

Sarongs still make a great chilled out summer look- but just keep them away from your men because the hairy legs in a skirt look went out just as fast as it arrived.
