Kimonos are a must-have look for the summer, but how exactly do you style this Eastern-inspired trend?
Here we have three ways to wear the piece this summer, and they’re sure to keep you looking stylish and feeling comfortable. The only tricky thing will be wittling down the extensive choices of kimonos we’ve spotted on the high street this summer.
Of course there are some incredible designer versions, but the high street have done us proud with beautiful embroidery and embellishment details too that ensure we’ll stand out and draw looks of jealousy from our wardrobe.
Look One
This look is ideal for summer festivals, but also something that could be worn for picnic in the park too. A pair of denim shorts, simple vest or crop top and a kimono thrown on top.
It’s simple, but the addition of a printed kimono will ensure it stand out.
Wellies will be best for the festivals most probably with the unpredictable British weather, but we like the idea of wearing these with espadrilles too.
Look Two
This is a glamorous look that you could definitely wear on a night out, throw your kimono on over a simple body con dress, the tight fitting dress will work well with the loose fitting throw over.
Add a pair of strappy heels and a bright lip and you’re good to go. Sandals and a floral crown would make this another festival-perfect look.
Look Three
Pairing your kimono with jeans a simple tee is the perfect day-to-day look, you can wear it with sandals that would make it ideal for shopping then dress it up with some flatforms or wedges.
