Trousers are the staple item for any wardrobe, so we’ve taken a look through the top shapes for spring.

We run you through the four shapes you need to invest in and suggest some stylish options that you can shop now.

Joggers

Joggers will help you perfect the sports luxe trend we saw on the runways at Victoria Beckham, Alexander Wang and many more shows.

Dress them up with a silky camisole top, ‘barely there’ heels and a box clutch and wear them during the day with espadrilles and a loose-fit t-shirt.

Wide leg

Wide leg trousers look incredibly chic, and super light materials are perfect for the warmer months as they’re cooling and breezy.

They work well with sandals in summer, but heels will help to elongate the leg and make your legs like they go on forever.

Balance out your look with a fitted top half.

Culottes

Once again culottes have proven a must have shape for spring and this season we have Mulberry, Hermes and Miu Miu to thank for the trend.

Whilst above-the-knee cuts will certainly still work, it’s the mid-length cuts that have certainly impacted most – to wear these you’ll most certainly need some heels to help elongate the body.

Unless of course, you have legs that go on for miles like Karlie Kloss.

Skinny leg

The metallic silver slim leg trousers certainly stood out to us on the Costume National catwalk as did the tartan, floral and leopard print pairs at Just Cavalli, but Ruffian showed a selection of gorgeous plain pastel shades that are simple and stylish. So really for spring, with the skinny-leg trousers any colour or print will work.
