Britons too embarrassed to ask for financial assistance

Turn2us is a charity that puts people who find themselves in financial difficulties in touch with one of the 3,300 charities around the country that can offer financial support.

In fact, every year £14 billion of state aid goes unclaimed, as does a large proportion of the estimated £362 million that these charities have available to help people.

For some its ignorance that this support is available, while for others embarrassment stops them from asking for help.

We have a video featuring twenty eight year old Natalie, a mother of two who ran into financial trouble when the job that she was offered then fell through, leaving her without an income for a month or so, causing her to get into arrears with her rent and bills.
