I had every intention not to mention the budget but incense, rage and utter disbelief got in the way! The brazen attitude did no favours either as President Brown piled on the layers of taxes, larger than my home- made lasagne. For the 1% of drivers using electric or zero emission cars, well done. Enjoy your windfall!

For the rest of us, more misery as fuel prices rise along with vehicle road fund licence. I would love to drive a bio-fuel car but the fuel is not readily available across the country and nor will it be while the government continues to cream off almost 70 pence in every pound spent at the pumps.

The highest band G jumps by £90 with another £100 next year, F goes up £10 then £ 5 for subsequent years, same with the other bands- an initial increase followed by more each and every year.

And guess who gets clobbered the most, yes the good old fashioned families who choose children over electronic gadgets knowing how much more joy they will bring.

Because they have chosen, say, a modest Vauxhall Zafria 2.0 litre engine which is needed to get the heavy car moving, they are tarred with the same brush as a Rolls-Royce Phantom 6.8 v12 at £400 a year.

Mr Brown, you are family man married with two children. Have you no conscience? Have you no morals? You should be helping the struggling families not penalising them ruthlessly.
