22 January 2008: Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will have its largest stand ever at this year’s CV show at the NEC in April. This will feature the UK show debuts of the all-new Caddy Maxi and an environmental concept – the Caddy BlueMotion. In addition, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will be offering its visitors the benefit of some welcome refreshments from its coffee bar.

The all-new Caddy Maxi creates a new class of compact van for Volkswagen between the Caddy and Transporter ranges and will be a key feature of the Volkswagen stand. All three derivatives of the new Caddy Maxi range will be on display – the panel van, window van and passenger carrying Life which offers seven seats and plenty of luggage space.

As its name suggests, the new Caddy Maxi is 47 cm longer than the award-winning Caddy and offers a larger load capacity of 4.2 m³ with a payload of 800 kg.

Another Caddy that is sure to generate a lot of interest is the environmentally friendly Caddy BlueMotion. This near-production concept is a result of Volkswagen’s environmental research programme and uses advanced and affordable technology to offer improved fuel consumption and lower emissions from its diesel engine without compromising any driving fun or practicality of the vehicle.

Other Volkswagen vans on the stand will include the largest Crafter in the range – the long wheelbase with high roof – and a Crafter dropside conversion from the Volkswagen Engineered to go™ range, plus three derivatives of Volkswagen’s best seller, the Transporter, which recently passed it’s 10 million production milestone.

‘The CV show is an important and prestigious event and this year we are proud to showcase the new Volkswagen Caddy Maxi as well as the Caddy BlueMotion environmental concept. After another record year of sales in 2007 and maintaining our position as number one van importer, the CV show will be a great opportunity to meet our existing customers plus even more new ones,’ said Ralf Schueler, Head of Marketing for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
