A recent online poll of over 30,000 people has uncovered the main reasons owners are reluctant to sell their cars privately.

When asked what the biggest drawback is to a private sale, 34% voted ‘spending time and money on advertising’ as their number one reason.

Besides indicating a keen awareness of the hassle selling privately can involve, the results of the poll sound a wake-up call for many classified advertisers. This finding was supported by second place answer ‘waiting ages and getting no response to advertising’ that polled 22% of the votes.

In third place with 20% of the vote came ’the worry of fraud or non-payment’ followed by ‘strangers coming to your home’ accounting for 12% of responders.

Conducted by the UK’s leading online car sales site, www.webuyanycar.com the poll sought out the opinions of 30,000 registered users, with results that are likely to cause ripples in the car-sales market.

The poll’s findings also bare testimony to the growing popularity of webuyanycar.com that claims to buy almost any car from non-runners to £10,000. The website allows visitors to get a quick and free valuation of their vehicle. They can even book an appointment online to drop the car off at one of our 15 nationwide branches.

Any concerns about fraud or non-payment are allayed as money is transferred directly into customers’ bank accounts. There’s even a 24- hour service available for those who need their money right away.

At last! Some good news for motorists.
