Britain’s motorists are under attack with over 7.5 million drivers been caught by speed cameras .. some 25 % of all drivers. In the last three years alone, speed cameras have collected over £300 million in fines and over one million drivers are just a single conviction away from losing their licence.

There are already more than 6,000 speed cameras, and that’s set to increase with new technology posing an even greater threat.

But as Jeremy Clarkson showed this week, it is possible to fight back. The Drivers’ Club has been formed to protect drivers against loss of mobility due to minor speeding offences and combines the benefit of professional legal representation in the event of a speed camera offence, with an insurance policy that will provide cover in the event of losing your driving licence through the totting-up process of speeding convictions.

The Drivers’ Club does not condone dangerous driving or speeding, but reckons millions of otherwise law abiding drivers now have points on their licences and have forked out £60 fines for inadvertently exceeding speed limits.

Well I condone the Drivers Club for its utter irresponsibility in protecting law-breaking motorists by offering this ‘insurance’. If drivers cannot abide by the speeding laws they simply should not be allowed to drive and if they are one conviction away from losing thier licence then jolly well start driving to designated speed limit!
