Immortals

Immortals

It sees that Hollywood can't get enough of Greek mythology based movies at the moment and there is another one on the way at the end of the year in the form of Immortals.

Now there is plenty to get excited about where actor Henry Cavill is concerned as, unless you have been living in a cave for the last six month, he has been cast as the new Superman - super exciting!

But before he goes off to play the Man of Steel he has the little job of leading an all star cast in the Tarsem Singh directed movie.

And an all star cast it is as Frieda Pinto Mickey Rourke, Kellan Lutz, Luke Evans, John Hurt and Stephen Dorff are all involved.

Now I was a big fan of 300 and Immortals is from the producers that brought us that movies - and they were never one to shy away from some good old fashion violence.

Having seen the trailer Immortals has, much like 300, that very stylish look about it looks set to be an action packed, blood spilling ride.

Eons after the Gods won their mythic struggle against the Titans, a new evil threatens the land. Mad with power, King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) has declared war against humanity.

Amassing a bloodthirsty army of soldiers disfigured by his own hand, Hyperion has scorched Greece in search of the legendary Epirus Bow, a weapon of unimaginable power forged in the heavens by Ares.

Only he who possesses this bow can unleash the Titans, who have been imprisoned deep within the walls of Mount Tartaros since the dawn of time and thirst for revenge.

In the king’s hands, the bow would rain destruction upon mankind and annihilate the Gods. But ancient law dictates the Gods must not intervene in man’s conflict.

They remain powerless to stop Hyperion - until a peasant named Theseus (Henry Cavill) comes forth as their only hope.

Should Immortals live up to the potential shown in the trailer the movie has the chance to do really well at the box office - a break from all the kiddy themed movies that hit the big screen at that time of year!

Immortals is relased 11th November.
