Lincoln

Lincoln

Lincoln looks set to be THE biopic movies of 2013 as Steven Spielberg returns to the director's chair.

As you may expect this film is already surrounded in early Oscar whispers and there is nothing that the Academy love more than to award a biopic film or performance.

So could double Oscar winner Daniel Day Lewis become a triple winner as he takes on the role of Abraham Lincoln in the movie?

Well there is certainly plenty of excitement surrounding the film and we have the new trailer so you can check it out for yourself:

Lincoln is not a birth to death story as we so often see instead it will focus on the 16th President's difficult few months in office.

And as if Spielberg in the director's chair and Day Lewis as Lincoln is not enough there is an eye-watering support cast.

Sally Field is set to play Lincoln's wife Mary while Joseph Gordon Levitt will take on the role of their son Robert.

David Strathairn, James Spader, Hal Holbrook, Tommy Lee Jones and Jackie Earle Haley are all also set to star.

In a nation divided by war and the strong winds of change, Lincoln pursues a course of action designed to end the war, unite the country and abolish slavery.

With the moral courage and fierce determination to succeed, his choices during this critical moment will change the fate of generations to come.

It is still a little too early to really predict who will be the major force at this year's Oscars but you have to think that Lincoln will be on of the contenders.

Lincoln is released 25th January
