Nobody Puts Baby In A Corner

Nobody Puts Baby In A Corner

Love Happens makes it to the big screen and is another romantic comedy to make us go ooohh and aaawww as we watch two characters fall in love.

The romance movie has been entertaining us for years and produced some of the most memorable and romantic moments for the big screen.

So to celebrate the release of Love Happens we take a look at some of the best romance movie moments.

- Dirty Dancing

Johnny Castle is arguably Patrick Swayze's most memorable role and was the one that shot him to fame. But it's the final scenes that are the most famous as girls everywhere fell in love with him.

Johnny, even though he has been fired, returns to the resort to perform the final dance of the season with Baby. He criticises the Housemans for their choice of Baby's seat, he utters the film's most famous line, "Nobody puts Baby in a corner," as he pulls her up from the family's table.

- Lady and the Tramp

In order to impress Lady on an evening out tramp takes her to his favourite Italian where they share spaghetti and meatballs under the stars.

With Bella Notte playing in the background the pair, unintentionally, accidentally kiss. He even gives her the last meatball, bless!

- Titanic

So up to this point Rose has been fighting off Jack's advances, I mean turning down Leonardo DiCaprio for Billy Zane wtf?

Anyway the moment in question Rose has finally admitted to herself, and Jack, how she really feels and the pair "fly" across the Atlantic Ocean, perched atop the prow of the ship.

- When Harry Met Sally

For once we are not going to talk about that scene with Meg Ryan but Billy Crystal proving his own Men and women can't be friends because the sex part always gets in the way theory correct.

So the pair have bickered, argued and generally just fallen out for the entire movie but it's New Year's Eve, Sally is at a party, but feels alone without Harry by her side.

When she decides to leave the party early, Harry walks in and declares his love for her, and they make up and kiss finally getting their romantic act together.

- Ghost

So you can't really talk about romantic moments without giving the old pottery scene in Ghost a little mention.

Swayze is back and this time around he is getting up close and personal with Demi Moore. While Unchained Melody plays in the background Swayze and Moore abandon pottery making class to hit the bedroom instead.

It remains one of cinema's most famous love scenes. And Ghost if full of little romantic moments and the end is still a movie moment that brings a tear to my eye. By the end of the film Molly can now hear Sam. He is then enveloped in bright light, which makes him visible to both Oda Mae and Molly.

It's time for Sam to go to heaven after sharing a kiss with Molly and saying a final goodbye to Oda Mae he walks towards the bright light. I defy you not to be blubbing into your hanky.

- An Affair to Remember

While in a cruise from Europe to New York, playboy Nicky Ferrante meets the gorgeous former night-club singer Terry McKay and they have a romance.

They finally agree to spend six months apart; if they still love each other at the end of that time, they will reunite at the top of the Empire State Building

But on the day of the reunion Terry is hit by a car and is crippled. Nicky waits for her all day and believes that she has changed her mind, Terry never contacts Nicky to tell him of the accident.

But fate intervenes again, this is the most romantic part, and Terry's secret is out but that doesn't change his feelings for her. The movie was re-made 1993 as Sleepless In Seattle.

Other romantic moments include Richard Gere in that white suit in An Officer and A Gentlemen, he returns in Pretty Woman as he climbs the fire escape to tell Vivian he loves her.

Classic romance movies also offer us some great moments including the final scene of Brief Encounter where Laura and Alec say goodbye for the last time, despite being very much in love with each other.

Then of course there's Gone With the Wind and the scene in which Clark Gable carries Vivien Leigh up the stairs which is totally swoonable.

Love Happens is released 9th October
