War Horse

War Horse

War Horse looks set to be the first major weepy movie of 2012, seriously I was nearly crying watching some of the footage from the premiere.

New York hosted the world premiere of the movie over the weekend and Steven Spielberg was on the red carpet along with cast members Jeremy Irvine, Tom Hiddleston, Emily Watson and David Thewlis.

Spielberg is back and he is tackling the subject that he has become a master at over the years... the war movie.

It is a production that Spielberg got up and running in a matter of months after reading the book and seeing the stage production

And he has a mixed cast of experience and youth as Emily Watson, Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch and David Thewlis are all set to star.

The movie will also introduce us to Jeremy Irvine, who plays lead character Albert, as he makes his feature film debut.

War Horse begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him.

When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter before the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Man’s Land.

War Horse is released 13th January.
