Boyhood

Boyhood

Boyhood was the major winner at the London Film Critics' Circle Awards - further cementing it as the movie to beat at this year's Oscars.

Boyhood has already won a clutch of Golden Globes and secured major Oscar nominations last week, and the critically acclaimed movie was named Film of the Year last night.

There was further success of the film, as Richard Linklater and Patricia Arquette picked up more gongs for Best Director and Best Supporting Actress - following on from the success that they both enjoyed at the Golden Globes last weekend.

There was also more awards success for Michael Keaton and Julianne Moore as scooped the Best Actor and Best Actress gongs for Birdman and Still Alice.

Keaton and Moore have already picked up a Golden Globe each and are the favourite to triumph at the Oscars at the end of February.

At the London Film Critics' Circle Awards, British talent is also recognised, and there was success for Timothy Spall and Rosamund Pike, who triumphed for Mr Turner and Gone Girl.

This is another major award for Spall, who triumphed at the Cannes Film Festival last year. Pike has also be in the Golden Globe and Oscar mix and it is great to see her pick up an award for her central performance.

Under The Skin also enjoyed some awards success as it took home the Best British Film of the Year.
