Captain America: The Winter Solider

Captain America: The Winter Solider

Captain America: The Winter Solider is set to be the next Marvel movie to hit the big screen - FemaleFirst is a bit fan of the Marvel films and it is fantastic to see three released in quick succession.

The Winter Solider is the second standalone film for this character and will see Chris Evans return to the role of Chris Evans. We have already been treated to a teaser poster so far this week and now we have been treated the first trailer.

It is great to see Chris Evans back in the title role and I am excited to see what is in store for this character second time around:

Anthony and Joe Russo are in the director’s chair this time around, as Rodgers has to find a place for himself in the modern world.

Evans is not the only familiar face on the cast list as Scarlett Johansson reprises the role of Black Widow: it will be the first time that these two characters have starred together since Avengers Assemble.

The Avengers movie started the beginning of an interesting relationship between these two characters, and The Winter Solider looks set to see that relationship explored further - which is something that I cannot wait to see.

Samuel L. Jackson will also be reprising the role of Nick Fury, while we will also be seeing Dominic Cooper and Hayley Atwell.

However, there are a couple of exciting new additions to the cast list as Anthony Mackie is on board as The Falcon and Robert Redford is set to play Alexander Pierce.

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world.

But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn.

When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

We have already been treated to the fantastic Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World so far this year, and Captain America: The Winter Solider looks set to be another Marvel gem.

Captain America: The Winter Solider is released 26th March 2014.
