Kill The Messenger

Kill The Messenger

Kill The Messenger is a movie that has been pushed back to the beginning of next year, but it is a film that we are looking forward to none the less.

We may have a bit of a wait until we see Kill The Messenger hit the big screen, but two great new clips have been released by Focus Features to whet our appetite even further.

Kill The Messenger sees Jeremy Renner leave the superhero genre behind for a little while, as he takes on the role of journalist Gary Webb in what is based on a true story.

Renner is a two time Oscar nominee - for his performances in The Hurt Locker and The Town - and I al really looking forward to seeing him get his teeth into more exciting material He is in action in both of these great new clips from the film:

Kill The Messenger sees Michael Cuesta back in the director’s chair for the first time since Roadie back in 2011. However, Cuesta is not stranger to the political thriller have helmed a handful of episodes of hit TV series Homeland.

Peter Landesman, who made his feature film directorial debut with Parkland last year, has penned the screenplay for the film.

Jenner is not the only great name on the cast list, as he is joined by Robert Patrick, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Michael Sheen, Ray Liotta, Andy Garcia, and Oliver Platt.

The movie follows Webb as he stumbles onto a story, which leads to the shady origins of the men who started the crack epidemic on the nation’s streets... and further alleges that the CIA was aware of major dealers who were smuggling cocaine into the U.S., and using the profits to arm rebels fighting in Nicaragua.

Despite warnings from drug kingpins and CIA operatives to stop his investigation, Webb keeps digging to uncover a conspiracy with explosive implications.

His journey takes him from the prisons of California to the villages of Nicaragua to the highest corridors of power in Washington, D.C. - and draws the kind of attention that threatens not just his career, but also his family and his life.

Kill The Messenger is released 6th March 2015.
