Everest is set to be one of the September movies that's not to be missed and we have just over a fortnight to go until the film finally hits the big screen.
I have been looking forward to this movie ever since they announced it was going ahead and who is going to star in it... from the trailers that have been released so far, it really looks like it will not disappoint.
We are going to be treated to a host of great ensemble cast movies as we head in the autumn and Everest really does boast one of the most impressive as a whole host of great talent has come together to star.
Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, and Josh Brolin will take on the central roles of Scott Fischer, Rob Hall and Beck Weathers and they are joined on the cast list by John Hawkes, Sam Worthington, Robin Wright, Emily Watson, Keira Knightley, and Elizabeth Debicki.
Everest really does promise to be an edge of your seat ride and we have a trio of great new clips for you to take a look at:
Everest marks the return of Baltasar Kormákur to the director's chair, while William Nicholson and Simon Beaufoy have teamed up to adapt this incredible true story into a screenplay.
Kormákur is no stranger to the director's chair with the likes of Contraband, The Deep, and Inhale already under his belt but this is his first feature since 2 Guns back in the summer of 2013.
Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world's highest mountain, Everest documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. Their mettle tested by the harshest elements found on the planet, the climbers will face nearly impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival.
Could Everest be an Oscar contender? It is a movie that is already being tipped to possible be in the mix when the nominations are announced at the beginning of next year. I guess we are just going to have to wait and see.
Everest is released 18th September.
